Cathedral celebrated its Golden Jubilee on the year 2001-02. As a part of this celebration the St. Mary’s Medical Centre was formed in August 2002. Even before this the foundation stone for St. George Chapel was laid, which has today become an intrinsic part of the Medical Centre at Aya Nagar. The Metropolitan of Delhi Diocese His Grace Job Mar Philoxenos blessed both the laying of the stone on 21 st April 2001 and the consecration on 24 th April 2002, an initiative that got completed in an impressive span of one year.
While the medical centre provides and caters to the medical needs of people in and around Aya Nagar irrespective of the caste and creed they belong to, the Chapel soothes the spiritual needs of not only patients coming to the medical centre but also the residents in the near by areas.
Holy Qurbana is celebrated on every 1 st and 3 rd Sunday of the month along with special intercession prayer to St. George every Wednesday evening. Every year the feast of St. George is celebrated at the Aya Nagar Chapel with people from different caste and creed being welcome to receive the blessings that are showered during the prayers.
